What’s Your Next Dream?

In Conversation with Dinah Lin

Me Time Midlife Podcast

Dinah Lin’s life exemplifies her message: “It’s Never too Late!” She didn’t begin her career until age 36 (after being a full time mom for 15 years), received her MBA from Columbia Business School at age 40 then began climbing the corporate ladder – finally “breaking the glass ceiling” when she became a corporate Vice President at a Fortune 500. At age 58, she made the decision to move to Beijing to study Chinese and reconnect with her roots. A year turned into a decade, as she witnessed the transformation of China.

After returning from Beijing, Dinah finally realized a long held dream, publishing her best selling memoir, “Daring to Dream Once Again – It’s Never Too Late!” at the age of 73! The title, she says, is her challenge to herself, as she almost gave up her dream of writing a book, and she has a great story about this.

A bit more about Dinah’s background, she was born in Shanghai and grew up in a small town in Ohio where they were the only Asian family. As a young wife and mother she lived for 15 years in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Prior to moving to Beijing in 2000, Dinah was an international executive and entrepreneur with two decades of experience ranging from high-tech start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

Dinah also served as an appointed senior official in the George H.W. Bush administration from 1989-1992 in Washington, D.C.
